Oman's national comprehensive cancer centre in Muscat, built to bring specialist cancer treatment and research to the country.
Overview
The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre is Oman's dedicated national cancer centre, established by royal decree and opened in Muscat to provide comprehensive treatment that previously required travel abroad. It offers medical oncology, radiation oncology, haematology and bone marrow transplantation, surgical oncology, nuclear medicine and PET-CT, paediatric oncology and palliative care, together with research laboratories, a clinical trials unit and training programmes. The centre works with the Ministry of Health and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital and is developing regional collaborations across the Gulf.
