Epidemiologist who led IBIS-I and IBIS-II, proving tamoxifen and anastrozole prevent breast cancer in high-risk women.
Overview
Jack Cuzick led the IBIS-I trial (tamoxifen) and IBIS-II (anastrozole) that established chemoprevention of breast cancer in high-risk women, and was the lead statistician of the ATAC trial that made aromatase inhibitors standard adjuvant therapy. He developed the Tyrer-Cuzick risk model and has led HPV-testing studies in cervical screening. His work continues on prevention and risk-based screening.
