Overview
Jennifer Temel led the 2010 NEJM randomised trial showing that early palliative care integrated with standard oncology care improves quality of life and mood and extends survival in metastatic lung cancer, the study that made early palliative care an ASCO recommendation. She has since shown telehealth palliative care is equivalent to in-person care and leads supportive care research at MGH.
