Overview
Paul Baas was principal investigator of CheckMate 743, which showed nivolumab plus ipilimumab improves overall survival over platinum-pemetrexed in unresectable malignant pleural mesothelioma, the first positive first-line trial since 2004 and the basis for immunotherapy's approval in the disease. He has led ESMO and IASLC mesothelioma guidelines and chaired the IASLC mesothelioma staging work.
