Precision oncology pioneer who showed that matching drugs to each patient's mutations, in combination, improves outcomes.
Overview
Razelle Kurzrock (Medical College of Wisconsin; formerly MD Anderson and UC San Diego) built one of the first large precision oncology programmes and led the I-PREDICT trial, which showed that individualised combination therapy matched to a higher fraction of a tumour's alterations improves progression-free survival. She founded the WIN Consortium and the field's methodology for N-of-1 matching, and has led early-phase trials in rare and refractory cancers.
