Lung cancer researcher who led the pooled analysis showing that entrectinib shrinks NTRK fusion-positive tumours of many kinds, and who studied how ROS1 and NTRK cancers escape targeted drugs.
Overview
Robert Doebele was first author of the 2020 Lancet Oncology integrated analysis of the entrectinib trials in NTRK fusion-positive solid tumours, part of the evidence for the drug's tumour-agnostic approval. As a physician-scientist at the University of Colorado he described resistance mechanisms in ROS1- and NTRK-driven lung cancers and helped establish patient-derived models of oncogene-addicted cancers.
