SKP1
SKP1 (S-phase kinase-associated protein 1) is a gene. In the public catalogues the evidence so far is association rather than a proven role.
Overview
Essential component of the SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein) ubiquitin ligase complex, which mediates the ubiquitination of proteins involved in cell cycle progression, signal transduction and transcription. In the SCF complex, serves as an adapter that links the F-box protein to CUL1. The functional specificity of the SCF complex depends on the F-box protein as substrate recognition component.
Open Targets scores its association with cancer at 0.53 (direct and indirect evidence; datatypes literature 0.93, affected pathway 0.83, genetic association 0.00).

No product in this corpus aims at SKP1 yet. Drugs bind the molecule precisely: to switch it off, flag the cell for the immune system, or deliver a payload.

SCF(BTRC) and SCF(FBXW11) direct ubiquitination of CTNNB1 and participate in Wnt signalling. SCF(FBXW11) directs ubiquitination of phosphorylated NFKBIA. SCF(BTRC) directs ubiquitination of NFKBIB, NFKBIE, ATF4, SMAD3, SMAD4, CDC25A, FBXO5, CEP68 and probably NFKB2. Locus 5q31.1 (HGNC).
Notes
top- Written by scripts/fetch-cancer-genes.ts from CIViC, Open Targets, IntOGen, HGNC and UniProt; the function text is UniProt's, condensed and in UK spelling. Roles: none stated by the sources. Evidence tier "association-only" is the strongest of those signals.
- Prevalence not recorded: none of the sources gives a positivity rate.
