A listed US company making boron-based medicines. Its cancer work is a pill called epetraborole for polycythaemia vera, a slow blood cancer that makes too many red blood cells, plus two early laboratory programmes for solid tumours.
AN2 Therapeutics develops small molecules built on boron chemistry across infectious disease and oncology. Its pipeline page lists epetraborole, an oral small molecule it describes as acting on globin synthesis, at Phase 2 in polycythaemia vera, and the company says it is designed to lower haematocrit without broadly suppressing white cells or platelets. The Phase 2 study in phlebotomy-dependent polycythaemia vera (NCT07891533, EBO-PV-201) was registered as not yet recruiting, with an estimated start in November 2026. The same drug is also in development for lung infections (M. abscessus, melioidosis), and a separate compound, AN2-502998, is in development for Chagas disease. Two oncology research programmes are listed as preclinical: a PI3K-alpha inhibitor the company says is selective for kinase- and helical-domain PIK3CA mutants over wild-type PI3K-alpha, and boron-based ENPP1 inhibitors intended to restore innate immune signalling in tumours. AN2 is listed on Nasdaq under ANTX according to its SEC filings.
Epetraborole is an experimental pill from AN2 Therapeutics, with a phase 2 trial due to start for polycythaemia vera.
