Epetraborole is an experimental pill from AN2 Therapeutics, with a phase 2 trial due to start for polycythaemia vera.
Epetraborole (EBO) is a small molecule, oral (boron-based) from AN2 Therapeutics. The company says it acts on globin synthesis to lower the haematocrit, selectively in red cells, rather than suppressing blood cell production broadly. Its cancer use is polycythaemia vera only: a phase 2 study (NCT07891533) is due to start in November 2026. AN2 also studies it in lung infections that are not cancer (Mycobacterium abscessus lung disease and melioidosis).
