AngioDynamics
AngioDynamics makes the NanoKnife irreversible electroporation system, which destroys pancreatic and prostate tumours with electrical pulses rather than heat, plus microwave and radiofrequency ablation probes and vascular access ports used in chemotherapy.
Overview
AngioDynamics, founded in 1988 in upstate New York, is a mid-sized interventional device company. Its NanoKnife delivers microsecond high-voltage pulses between needle electrodes to kill tumour cells without heating, sparing vessels and ducts, and is used in locally advanced pancreatic cancer, liver tumours near vessels and, since a 2024 US clearance for prostate tissue ablation, in prostate cancer. It also sells the Solero microwave and StarBurst radiofrequency ablation systems, the Auryon laser atherectomy device and BioFlo ports and catheters used for chemotherapy access. OnCo links it to irreversible electroporation and microwave and radiofrequency ablation.
