argenx is a Belgian antibody company best known for efgartigimod in autoimmune disease; its cancer programme, the anti-CD70 antibody cusatuzumab for acute myeloid leukaemia, was returned by its partner in 2021.
Overview
argenx, based in Ghent with Dutch and US operations and listed on Euronext and Nasdaq, develops antibodies from its llama-derived SIMPLE Antibody platform. Its lead product efgartigimod is approved for myasthenia gravis and other autoimmune conditions. In cancer it developed cusatuzumab, an anti-CD70 antibody tested with azacitidine in acute myeloid leukaemia, which Janssen licensed in 2018 and handed back in 2021. OnCo records it as a registry sponsor of phase 3 cancer trials.
