Asher Biotherapeutics builds cis-targeted immunotherapies: a cytokine fused to an antibody arm that binds a marker on the intended cell type, so the cytokine acts selectively rather than on every cell bearing its receptor. The lead programme AB248 is a CD8-targeted interleukin-2 in phase 1 for advanced solid tumours, alone and with pembrolizumab; a second programme targets regulatory T cells for autoimmune disease.
