Curasight is a Danish company developing a PET scan tracer and a matching radioactive treatment that both target uPAR, a protein found on aggressive cancers. The scan is being tested to judge how aggressive early prostate cancer is, and the treatment is in a first trial in brain tumours.
Curasight A/S is a Copenhagen radiopharmaceutical company founded in 2013, according to the company, to commercialise uPAR research from Rigshospitalet and the University of Copenhagen led by co-founder and chief scientific officer Andreas Kjær. Its theranostic platform uses one uPAR-targeting peptide ligand (AE105) for both PET imaging (uTRACE, 64Cu-DOTA-AE105) and radioligand therapy (uTREAT). The company says uTRACE has been evaluated in nine clinical studies in more than 450 patients across eight solid tumour types, and in 2023 it partnered uTRACE in prostate cancer diagnosis with Curium while keeping uTREAT. uTREAT entered a first-in-human phase 1 trial in glioblastoma in December 2025. Curasight listed on the Spotlight Stock Market in October 2020, raising about 97 million Danish kroner. Its first registered cancer trial, NCT06474806, a two-part phase 2 study of uPAR PET for non-invasive classification of ISUP grade in localised, untreated prostate cancer at Danish and German sites, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in June 2024.
