GRPR (gastrin-releasing peptide receptor)

GRPR is a hormone receptor abundant in early and hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, imaged and treated with bombesin-like radioligands.

GRPR is overexpressed in primary and hormone-naive prostate cancer, often in PSMA-negative tumours, and in breast cancer. 68Ga-RM2 PET and 177Lu-NeoB (Novartis) are in clinical trials; complementary theranostic target to PSMA.

In plain words · GRPR is a hormone receptor abundant in early and hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, imaged and treated with bombesin-like radioligands.

  1. 1 · What it is

GRPR is a hormone receptor abundant in early and hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, imaged and treated with bombesin-like radioligands.

  2. 2 · What goes wrong in cancer

G-protein-coupled receptor for bombesin/GRP; expression falls with castration resistance.

  3. 3 · How drugs use it

No product in this corpus aims at GRPR (gastrin-releasing peptide receptor) yet. Because it sits on the outside of the cell, it can be reached from the bloodstream: antibodies flag the cell, ADCs deliver a toxin, radioligands deliver radiation, and CAR-T or bispecifics bring a T cell.

Biology
