Overview
GT Medical Technologies (Tempe, Arizona), founded by brain tumour specialists, developed GammaTile, an FDA-cleared bioresorbable brachytherapy implant. Collagen tiles carrying caesium-131 seeds are placed in the resection cavity at surgery, delivering a localised dose over the following weeks. GammaTile is indicated for newly diagnosed malignant and recurrent intracranial neoplasms, had its full US launch in March 2020. The randomised phase 3 ROADS trial in newly diagnosed brain metastases, presented at ASCO 2026, compared resection plus GammaTile with resection plus post-operative stereotactic radiotherapy; the company reports a 93 percent lower risk of local recurrence and 41 percent lower risk of death at 12 months without added toxicity. The BRIDGES randomised trial in newly diagnosed glioblastoma is enrolling. In June 2026 the company closed an oversubscribed USD 100 million Series E led by Viking Global Investors.
