Insight Molecular Diagnostics (formerly Oncocyte)
Insight Molecular Diagnostics, the renamed Oncocyte, is a small listed company whose cancer tests read gene activity in tumours to predict who will respond to immunotherapy, alongside a larger business in transplant rejection blood tests.
Overview
Insight Molecular Diagnostics (iMDx), Nasdaq: IMDX, is the former Oncocyte Corporation, which changed its name and moved from Irvine, California to Nashville, Tennessee in June 2025. Its oncology assets include DetermaIO, a 27-gene expression assay of the tumour immune microenvironment intended to predict response to immune checkpoint inhibitors, and DetermaCNI, an in-development blood test measuring genomic copy number instability in circulating tumour DNA to monitor treatment response. The commercial focus has shifted to transplant monitoring with the GraftAssure donor-derived cell-free DNA tests: GraftAssureCore is a laboratory developed test, GraftAssureIQ a research kit and GraftAssureDx is under FDA review for kidney transplant recipients, with a favourable Medicare coverage decision in July 2026. At the end of Q2 2026 the company held $18.7 million in cash.
