Instil Bio is a listed biotechnology company that previously developed immune cell therapies and then a two-target antibody for solid tumours. It stopped that antibody programme in January 2026 and now seeks new medicines to acquire or license.
Instil Bio, Inc. is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, was incorporated in Delaware in August 2018 and began operations in 2019; its shares trade on Nasdaq as TIL. It previously developed tumour-infiltrating lymphocyte cell therapies, including a folate receptor alpha CoStAR TIL programme (ITIL-168 and ITIL-306), which it discontinued. In August 2024 its wholly owned subsidiary Axion Bio, Inc. in-licensed AXN-2510, a PD-L1 and VEGF bispecific antibody, from ImmuneOnco Biopharmaceuticals (Shanghai); the phase 1 trial NCT07159828 in advanced solid tumours was terminated, and the licence ended in January 2026. Its stated strategy is to pursue acquisitions or in-licensing of therapeutic candidates. Its first cancer trial registered under the sponsor name Axion Bio, Inc, NCT07159828, was posted on ClinicalTrials.gov in September 2025.
