The Italian Sarcoma Group is the Italian non-profit collaborative group for soft tissue, GIST and bone sarcoma research, constituted in June 1997; in OnCo it leads ISG-STS 1001, the histology-tailored neoadjuvant chemotherapy trial.
Overview
The Italian Sarcoma Group (ISG) is a non-profit association recognised by the Italian Ministry of Health, constituted in June 1997 as an Italian collaborative group to improve research and care for patients of all ages with soft tissue sarcoma, gastrointestinal stromal tumours and bone sarcoma; its legal seat is in Bologna (Via Farini 31) and its operational office at the Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan (italiansarcomagroup.org). ClinicalTrials.gov names it lead sponsor (NETWORK class, with the French Sarcoma Group and the Spanish sarcoma group as collaborators) of ISG-STS 1001 (NCT01710176, phase 3, histology-tailored against standard anthracycline-ifosfamide neoadjuvant chemotherapy in high-risk soft tissue sarcoma), the trial recorded in OnCo. It has no products of its own.
