Standard pathology fixes and kills tumour tissue after surgery. Kernis Health arranges for a patient's live tumour tissue to be preserved and owned by the patient, which opens the door to functional testing of drugs on their own cells, organoid growth, personalised therapies and clinical trials that need viable tissue. It is a California company in the Even One Ventures portfolio and also appears on the Sijbrandij Foundation's Future of Cancer Care Today list.
