Naveris
Naveris makes NavDx, a blood test that tracks DNA from the HPV virus shed by tumours, so doctors can confirm HPV-related throat and anal cancers and catch them coming back after treatment. It was bought by CareDx in 2026.
Overview
Naveris, based in Waltham, Massachusetts and founded in 2017, developed NavDx, a blood test that quantifies tumour tissue modified viral (TTMV) HPV DNA in plasma. The tumour-naive assay can confirm HPV-driven disease at diagnosis, assess treatment response and detect molecular residual disease (MRD) and recurrence in HPV-positive oropharyngeal and anal squamous cell carcinoma. The test runs in a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited, New York State-approved laboratory. Medicare coverage began in 2023 with ADLT status at $1,800 per test; more than 130,000 commercial tests have been reported. Naveris raised an expanded Series A of $19 million in 2020 and $51 million in 2022, led by Gurnet Point Capital. CareDx agreed in April 2026 to acquire it for $160 million up front plus up to $100 million in milestones, closing in July 2026.
