Photocure
Photocure is a Norwegian company whose blue-light cystoscopy agent hexaminolevulinate (Hexvix in Europe, Cysview in the United States) makes bladder tumours fluoresce so surgeons find and remove more of them.
Overview
Photocure ASA, based in Oslo and listed on the Oslo stock exchange, markets hexaminolevulinate hydrochloride, an optical imaging agent instilled into the bladder before cystoscopy. Under blue light the agent makes non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer fluoresce, improving detection of papillary tumours and carcinoma in situ compared with white light alone; it is sold as Hexvix in Europe and Cysview in the United States. OnCo records it as a registry sponsor of phase 3 cancer trials.
