Overview
SBI Pharmaceuticals, part of Japan's SBI group and founded in 2011, develops medicines and supplements based on 5-aminolevulinic acid. Its Alaglio was approved in Japan for photodynamic diagnosis of bladder cancer during transurethral resection and for glioma surgery, and its Canadian arm SBI ALApharma Canada ran phase 3 trials to bring the bladder cancer indication to North America, registered on ClinicalTrials.gov.
