Predicta Biosciences sequences the whole genome of myeloma cells, taken either from bone marrow or from the small number that circulate in blood, to tell doctors how risky a person's myeloma is, a step towards replacing repeated bone marrow biopsies with a blood draw.
Predicta Biosciences was founded in 2023 at the Blavatnik Harvard Life Lab Longwood by Irene Ghobrial, Kenneth Anderson, Gad Getz and Romanos Sklavenitis-Pistofidis, clinician-scientists from Dana-Farber and the Broad Institute, and describes itself as building a molecular insights platform for blood cancer care. Its first laboratory-developed test, GenoPredicta, launched in April 2025: it uses whole genome sequencing of tumour cells from bone marrow or from circulating tumour cells in peripheral blood to assess the prognostic cytogenetic changes usually checked by FISH, and runs in the company's CLIA-approved laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. ImmunoPredicta, a single-cell immune profiling product, is listed as available from late 2026. The company raised a USD 5.2 million seed round in July 2024 led by The Engine Ventures with Illumina Ventures, Time Boost Capital and American Cancer Society BrightEdge, and an oversubscribed USD 23.4 million Series A in October 2025 led by Engine Ventures with Illumina Ventures, Lightchain Capital, Mass General Brigham Ventures, ACS BrightEdge, Binney Street Capital of Dana-Farber and the Myeloma Solutions Fund. In 2026 it announced a collaboration with Tempus on access to its whole-genome assay and an agreement with CIMA LAB Diagnostics.
