Flumatinib
Flumatinib is Hansoh Pharma's second-generation BCR-ABL inhibitor, approved in China in 2019 for newly diagnosed chronic-phase chronic myeloid leukaemia.
Overview
Flumatinib is an imatinib derivative developed by Hansoh Pharma. The NMPA approved it in November 2019 for adults with newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukaemia in chronic phase, after the FESTnd phase 3 trial reported deeper and faster molecular responses than imatinib. It is the first BCR-ABL inhibitor discovered and developed in China.
Blocks the BCR-ABL fusion kinase that drives chronic myeloid leukaemia, with higher potency than imatinib. Connects to BCR::ABL1 (Philadelphia chromosome).
