MICSI-RMT is FDA-cleared software from MICSI that cleans noise out of MRI scans. It is used on brain and prostate scans, including to look for prostate cancer and to plan brain tumour surgery.
MICSI-RMT is the first product of MICSI (Microstructure Imaging, Inc.), radiological image-processing software cleared by the FDA through 510(k) K241121, decided substantially equivalent on 17 July 2024, for MRI image quality enhancement. MICSI's NCI SBIR award states a fourfold signal-to-noise improvement; the clearance is for image enhancement, not for a cancer diagnosis.
Removes noise from MRI data with random matrix theory (Marchenko-Pastur principal component analysis), using the redundancy within the scan rather than training data.
