Multiparametric prostate MRI (PI-RADS)

An MRI before biopsy that finds the cancers that matter and lets many men skip biopsy altogether.

PRECISION (2018): MRI-targeted biopsy detected more clinically significant cancer (38% vs 26%) and less insignificant cancer than systematic biopsy, with 28% of men avoiding biopsy. PI-RADS v2.1 scoring; now guideline standard before first biopsy. AI reading (PI-CAI challenge) matches radiologists.
