SRN-101 is an experimental AAV gene therapy from Siren Biotechnology, in phase 1 trials for recurrent high-grade glioma.
SRN-101 is an AAV gene therapy (immuno-gene therapy) from Siren Biotechnology. An adeno-associated virus vector that carries the gene for human interferon beta, infused once directly into the tumour by MRI-guided convection-enhanced delivery so that the tumour makes the immune signal itself. Its furthest stage is phase 1, for recurrent high-grade glioma. ClinicalTrials.gov registers it in 2 studies linked below. Both registered trials are not yet recruiting (company-sponsored phase 1/2 ALERT-1 NCT07902037; investigator-initiated phase 1 NCT07826949 sponsored by Nicholas Butowski). FDA granted Orphan Drug, Rare Pediatric Disease and Fast Track designations. Whether it works in people has not been established unless a trial below reports it.
