Overview
The Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi is the Kenyan teaching hospital of the Aga Khan University and is accredited by Joint Commission International. Its Heart and Cancer Centre provides medical oncology, radiation oncology including modern linear accelerator techniques, haemato-oncology with one of the first bone marrow transplant programmes in East Africa, surgical oncology, nuclear medicine and PET-CT, and it runs oncology fellowship training for the region. The hospital participates in research on cancers common in East Africa, such as cervical, breast and oesophageal cancer and Burkitt lymphoma, in partnership with the university's East Africa campuses and international collaborators.
