The European patient organisation for all digestive cancers, which grew in 2018 out of EuropaColon, a colorectal cancer group started in 2004.
Digestive Cancers Europe began in 2004 as EuropaColon, founded by Jola Gore-Booth, then chief executive of Colon Cancer Concern (now Bowel Cancer UK), with Eric Van Cutsem, according to its history page. EuropaColon launched European Colon Cancer Awareness Month in March 2008 and in 2015 extended its work to pancreatic and stomach cancers. In 2018 it became Digestive Cancers Europe, covering colorectal, gastric, oesophageal, liver, pancreatic and rare digestive cancers. It runs a Colorectal Cancer Navigator for patients and awareness months for each cancer, and is registered as a Belgian non-profit (vzw/asbl) in Brussels.
Shares World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition, Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.
Shares Bowel Cancer UK, Colorectal cancer.
