The Veneto region's OECI-accredited comprehensive cancer centre in Padua, strong in breast cancer trials, melanoma and tumour immunology.

Founded in 2005, the Istituto Oncologico Veneto is the IRCCS cancer institute of the Veneto region and coordinates the regional oncology network; it is accredited by the OECI as a comprehensive cancer centre. Pierfranco Conte and Valentina Guarneri's breast oncology group led the ShortHER trial of trastuzumab duration and many neoadjuvant studies, the melanoma unit is a leading Italian immunotherapy trial site, and Vincenzo Bronte's immunology programme is known for myeloid-derived suppressor cells. The institute runs gastrointestinal, thoracic and gynaecological oncology, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine across Padua and Castelfranco Veneto, with a phase 1 unit and the University of Padua's oncology school.
