The UK charity for people affected by ocular (uveal) melanoma, formerly OcuMel UK, with a support line, free counselling for members, booklets and an annual conference.
Ocular Melanoma UK describes itself as the only UK organisation dedicated solely to supporting people affected by ocular melanoma, and says on its home page that it has changed its name from OcuMel UK. It runs a confidential support line on weekdays, gives members free psychological and emotional support counselling and free entry to its annual conference and meet-ups, and publishes booklets and information on clinical trials and published research. Its team page says it is led by its founder, Jo Gumbs, who was diagnosed in November 2017 and became its chair in 2023, and that the charity is registered in Slough. Its site gives its registered charity number as 1147506 and a postal address in Slough; the Charity Commission register page could not be read by script.
