An international patient organisation for pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma, founded in 2007, with peer support, education webinars, a centres of excellence programme and research funding.
The Pheo Para Alliance was founded in 2007 and calls itself the longest-standing internationally recognised advocacy organisation for pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (PPGL), according to its about page, which says it has given more than $2 million to research, diagnosis, education, advocacy and the search for a cure. Its programmes include a Center of Excellence Program, an education webinar series, national and regional conferences, one-to-one and monthly peer support and patient-centred research. Its educational material is reviewed by a medical advisory board of PPGL specialists. It states that it is a 501(c)(3) incorporated in Virginia; the IRS lists a Pheo Para Patient Initiative Incorporated in Free Union, Virginia, with tax exemption from August 2010.
