The Philippines' national cancer charity: mobile screening clinics, patient navigation, the Manila Cancer Registry and support for palliative care, with a focus on poorer Filipinos.
The Philippine Cancer Society, Inc. is a private, non-stock, non-profit corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 22 December 1956 by a group of laymen and doctors, with the aim of helping Filipinos, especially the disadvantaged, cope with cancer through information, education, advocacy and focused services. It runs the Manila Cancer Registry, whose data its history page says were accepted into the IARC Cancer Incidence in Five Continents series in 2023, and mobile screening clinics that its site says reached 381 barangays in 2024. It developed patient navigation training for the Department of Health's cancer access programme and has worked on national palliative care policy. It is run by a volunteer Board of Trustees. UICC lists it as a Full Member.
