Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University

Ramathibodi Hospital opened in 1969 as Mahidol University's second faculty of medicine and is one of Thailand's top research hospitals. It is known for paediatric haematology-oncology and thalassaemia, adult haematology and stem cell transplant, the Ramathibodi cancer genetics and pharmacogenomics programmes, hepatobiliary and colorectal surgery, and a large radiation oncology service; it also participates widely in international trials in breast, lung and gastrointestinal cancer. The Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute campus and the Ramathibodi Comprehensive Cancer Center expand its capacity, and Mahidol's Institute of Molecular Biosciences supports cholangiocarcinoma and liver-fluke research relevant to north-east Thailand.
