Allotera Therapeutics (formerly Wugen)
Allotera, formerly Wugen, makes off-the-shelf CAR T-cell therapies from healthy donor cells for T-cell leukaemias and lymphomas, which are hard to treat with conventional CAR T because the cancer cells look like the therapy cells. Its lead product is in a global pivotal trial.
Overview
Allotera Therapeutics (renamed from Wugen in July 2026) is a St. Louis clinical-stage company developing allogeneic, off-the-shelf cell therapies for haematological malignancies. Lead candidate soficabtagene geleucel (sofi-cel, formerly WU-CART-007) is an anti-CD7 allogeneic CAR T-cell therapy in the global pivotal T-RRex trial for relapsed or refractory T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, with further work in T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, acute myeloid leukaemia and autoimmune indications. The programme was selected for the FDA's CMC Development and Readiness Pilot. In July 2026 the company closed a $35 million financing of equity and venture debt, bringing its Series C to $150 million and total capital raised to $150 million on top of the $115 million Series C announced in late 2025, to fund T-RRex, manufacturing scale-up and team growth.
