A Tata Trusts cancer hospital in Tirupati, run with the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, offering affordable treatment and screening for oral, breast and cervical cancer.
SVICCAR is an initiative of the Tata Cancer Care Foundation, an associate organisation of Tata Trusts, built in collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. It is part of the Trusts' effort to bring affordable cancer treatment closer to patients' homes.
Beyond treatment, it runs screening and awareness camps and a screening kiosk at Area Hospital, Chandragiri, where doctors, nurses and patient navigators screen for oral, breast and cervical cancer, and it trains health workers in early detection. Its stated goal is to reverse India's early-to-late detection ratio of about 30:70. Patients covered by Andhra Pradesh's Dr NTR Vaidya Seva scheme are treated there.
