A joint venture of the Government of Assam and Tata Trusts, set up in December 2017, that runs a three-level network of cancer centres across Assam so patients can be treated nearer home.
Assam Cancer Care Foundation is a partnership between the Government of Assam and Tata Trusts, set up in December 2017 to build a three-level cancer grid in the state. The distributed model was designed by the Trusts and the state government to give standardised, affordable care closer to patients' homes, and the foundation expects it to benefit half of Assam's cancer patients.
Its website lists cancer centres at Barpeta, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Silchar and Tezpur, day-care centres, nursing colleges at Barpeta, Diphu and Lakhimpur, and awareness and screening work in Assamese. It convened the first Northeast Oncology Summit at Tezpur.
