Clinical & Experimental Metastasis is the official journal of the Metastasis Research Society and the main specialist venue for laboratory and clinical research on how cancer spreads. It is read by metastasis biologists and by clinicians who treat advanced disease.
Overview
Clinical & Experimental Metastasis is an international, multidisciplinary Springer journal devoted to the rapid publication of fundamental advances in basic and applied metastasis research, and is the official journal of the Metastasis Research Society. It publishes original articles, reviews, short communications, commentaries and letters to the editor across molecular biology, pharmacology, tumour biology and clinical treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, pathology and epidemiology) insofar as they concern metastasis formation, prevention and treatment. Case studies are accepted only exceptionally, correlative clinical studies with small patient numbers must include experimental validation, and laboratory work is expected to provide mechanistic insight with validation in animal models. The homepage lists a hybrid publishing model. NLM records the title from 1983 (originally Taylor & Francis, later Kluwer Academic), published ten times a year since 1999 and indexed in MEDLINE. The journal is now online only and its print ISSN has ceased.
