Arthur Violante Sapia

Dr Arthur Violante Sapia is Diretor Executivo of the Instituto do Câncer do Estado de São Paulo Octavio Frias de Oliveira (ICESP), the cancer institute inaugurated in May 2008 as a unit of the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo and managed by the Fundação Faculdade de Medicina as a social health organisation. ICESP serves the public SUS system exclusively and, as of February 2026, operated four units with 520 beds, about 5,900 staff and contractors and more than 40,000 active patients. Its leadership page lists Professor William Carlos Nahas as President of the Conselho Diretor, Denise Barbosa Henriques Kerr as deputy executive director and Professor Maria Del Pilar Estevez Diz as Director of the clinical staff.
