Bert Vogelstein

Bert Vogelstein is the most-cited scientist in cancer genetics: he mapped how colorectal cancer develops and founded the field of cancer genome sequencing and blood-based detection.

With Kenneth Kinzler, defined the adenoma-carcinoma sequence, discovered p53's tumour-suppressor role, sequenced the first cancer genomes, and developed CancerSEEK, the basis of multi-cancer blood testing.
