Professor Brandon Wainwright AM is Director and CEO of QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in Brisbane, an Australian medical research institute with major cancer research programmes, a role he took up in 2026. He was previously Professor at The University of Queensland, led its Institute for Molecular Bioscience until 2019 and was Co-Director of the Children's Brain Cancer Centre. His research addresses genetic pathways in medulloblastoma and other cancers, including the role of Hedgehog signalling.
