Ali Taher

Ali Taher (MD, PhD, FRCP) is Director of the Naef K. Basile Cancer Institute (NKBCI) at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. In his director's message he describes the institute as 'an exciting and growing institute with leading clinicians, educators, and scientists working together to improve patient care', with the aim of reducing the burden of cancer in Lebanon and the region. NKBCI operates as a multidisciplinary cancer centre within AUBMC, with radiation oncology, pathology, laboratory and clinical research units, holds JCI, Magnet, CAP and JACIE accreditations, and runs basic, translational, clinical and population research alongside community outreach on prevention and early detection.
