Overview
Dr Diwani Msemo leads the Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI), Tanzania's national specialised cancer institute in Dar es Salaam. In August 2026 he announced that ORCI would begin offering major cancer surgery in October, ending the need to refer patients to other national hospitals for operations before returning for radiotherapy or chemotherapy. He also reported the installation of a PET scanner at ORCI, described as the first in East and Central Africa.
