Gerardo D. Legaspi, MD, is Director of the Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH), a tertiary state-owned hospital administered by the University of the Philippines Manila that serves as the national referral centre and treats more than 600,000 patients a year, mostly indigent Filipinos. He heads a leadership team of deputy directors covering health operations, administration, fiscal services, training and research, and nursing.
