Dr Robert Peel, Consultant Nephrologist at NHS Highland, is Chair of the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC), a committee of clinicians, pharmacists, health board representatives, industry and the public that assesses newly licensed medicines, including cancer drugs, for use by NHSScotland. He is supported by vice chairs Graeme Bryson, Director of Pharmacy at NHS Lanarkshire, and Jane Goddard, Consultant Nephrologist at NHS Lothian.
