Shanu Modi
Led DESTINY-Breast01 and DESTINY-Breast04, the trials that created the HER2-low category and opened T-DXd to most breast cancers.
Overview
Shanu Modi was lead investigator of DESTINY-Breast01, the study that won trastuzumab deruxtecan its first approval, and of DESTINY-Breast04, which showed the ADC halves the risk of progression in HER2-low disease previously treated as HER2-negative. That trial redefined breast cancer classification and extended ADC therapy to roughly half of all patients. She continues to lead ADC trials at MSKCC.
