Wouter de Laat is Chair of the Strategic Program Cancer at UMC Utrecht, which coordinates cancer research across the UMC Utrecht Cancer Center and the Hubrecht Institute. He is a professor of biomedical genomics whose laboratory pioneered chromosome conformation capture (4C) methods to study three-dimensional genome organisation. His work links chromatin structure to gene regulation and disease.
