ADIUVO-2 tests whether adding platinum chemotherapy to mitotane after surgery lowers the high relapse rate of aggressive adrenal cancers; it is still recruiting through MD Anderson and the ENSAT network.
Overview
ADIUVO-2 is an international randomised registry trial led by MD Anderson Cancer Center with the National Cancer Institute in patients with localised adrenocortical carcinoma at high risk of recurrence after complete resection. Patients are randomised to adjuvant mitotane alone or mitotane with four cycles of cisplatin and etoposide; the primary endpoint is recurrence-free survival at two years, with local and distant recurrence as further primary measures.
The registry lists an estimated 240 participants, recruiting, with primary completion in 2029 and no results. The corpus's localised adrenocortical carcinoma page cites ADIUVO-2 for considering adjuvant chemotherapy in very high-risk tumours.
