EuroNet-PHL-C2
EuroNet-PHL-C2 is the huge European trial that treats children with Hodgkin lymphoma using PET scans after the first two cycles to decide who can skip radiotherapy, and tests a more intensive chemotherapy consolidation to make that possible for more of them; enrolment of nearly 3,000 children has closed and the full results are awaited.
Overview
EuroNet-PHL-C2 was the second international inter-group study of the European Network for Paediatric Hodgkin Lymphoma, sponsored by the University of Giessen, enrolling 2,921 children and adolescents with classical Hodgkin lymphoma between 2015 and 2024. All patients received OEPA induction (vincristine, etoposide, prednisone, doxorubicin) with an early PET response assessment. Intermediate- and advanced-stage patients were randomised to COPDAC-28 consolidation (cyclophosphamide, vincristine, prednisone, dacarbazine) or the intensified DECOPDAC-21 (adding etoposide and doxorubicin), with radiotherapy omitted in adequate early responders and restricted to residual PET-positive sites otherwise. The primary endpoint is five-year event-free survival.
The registry records the trial as completed in October 2025 with no posted results, and no primary publication was found on Europe PMC by NCT id, so the record states the design. The corpus's Hodgkin lymphoma page cites the trial for risk-adapted OEPA/COPDAC with PET-guided radiotherapy omission.
