Overview
The Cancer Information Service is the National Cancer Institute's public help line. Information specialists answer questions about diagnosis, treatment, side effects, trials and NCI's own PDQ summaries, and can search for trials that match a caller's situation. It is free, confidential and open to anyone anywhere, though the trial search focuses on the US. OnCo's plain-language records draw on the same PDQ source the specialists use.
